About the Campaign

Service Workers Rising is an effort by 100,000 UNITE HERE members to join together in the Laundry, Airport and the Food Service Industries across the nation.

Service companies like Aramark are taking over the "non-core" work of food service, laundry, and cleaning from hospitals, universities and airports. These companies consider it all one industry, so we're organizing ourselves into one strong division as well.

Service Workers Rising has already won some huge victories. New contracts in Houston, Chicago, Miami and other cities have already helped to strengthen seniority rights and better wages and benefits. We're going to continue to organize new members across the nation. United, we're powerful!

Join the Fight for Worker Justice! We are seeking talented, progressive students for our Summer '08 Internship Program. As an intern, you'll help coordinate a national campaign against a multinational, multibillion dollar corporation. Interns work alongside union leaders in direct action teams called "Flying Squads" during the 6-week paid internship. Flying Squad members conduct research, mobilize workers and community members, and coordinate actions.
